SUBJECT: Doctors vs. Gun owners

A widely publicized report saying that as many as 98,000 people die each year in the United States from medical errors is conservative, and the number is probably much larger than that. The estimate by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) is low because it looked only at deaths of patients at hospitals. The Institute is a private, nonprofit organization that provides health policy advice under a congressional charter to the National Academy of Sciences. Janet M. Corrigan is the IOM's director of health care services. The Institute is a private, nonprofit organization that provides health policy advice under a congressional charter to the National Academy of Sciences. She told reporters at a Capitol Hill briefing May 8 that the study did not look at medical-error deaths at nursing homes, emergency rooms or in doctors' offices. The mortality estimates are low also because most of the information was based on medical record reviews. Medical errors are a problem that has been hidden from the public for far to long. The oppsite is said of the F.B.I., all gun related deaths are counted, even when not true, all incidents with guns related are counted towards the total count.

Doctors:
(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is o.171.
Statistics courtesy of the U.S Dept of Health Services.

Now Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. Yes, that is 80 million!
(B) The number of gun deaths per year, all age groups is, 1,500.
(C)The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .ooo188.
Statistics courtesy of the F.B.I.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, Doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST ECERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR!

PLEASE ALERT YOUR FRIENDS TO HIS ALARMING THREAT IMMEDIATELY. wE MUST BAN DOCTORS BEFORE THIS GETS OUT OF HAND.

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.
